Schools will have read with interest as the judgment of the High Court in the case of R -v- Michaela Community Schools Trust relating to the prohibition of prayer rituals on school premises was handed down on 16 April.

Although the school the subject of the case was a secular secondary free school, the decision will be of interest to all schools in clarifying their Equality Act duties.

The judgment includes useful suggestions as to how schools should approach the setting of policies which might have discriminatory effect, and ensuring that they are proportionate.

Join us for our free webinar where we will be joined by Miriam Carrion Benitez, a barrister at the 36 Group, who represented the London Borough of Brent (an interested party in the case), to consider the detail of the case and what it means for all schools.
