VWV Higher Education Specialists Promoted to Partner

on Monday, 16 December 2019.

Two of our specialist higher education lawyers have recently been promoted to Partner.

Bob and Robin 750x450 PR

Bob Fahy and Robin Rajanah both work closely with higher education institutions and providers across the UK, advising them on a wide range of employment and complex property matters from the firm's offices in London and Bristol respectively.

Bob joined VWV in 2006 and specialises in advising higher education clients on all aspects of employment law. His experience ranges from academic staff contracts and HR policies to collective consultations and employment tribunal litigation. In addition, he provides bespoke training to university HR teams and managers and has led five of the firm's employment lawyers in supporting the University of Southampton's in-house legal team throughout 2018.

Robin joined VWV's Commercial Property team in 2008 and focuses on advising universities on commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, development and estate management. For example, he has supported the University of Bristol on the acquisition and development of several properties across Bristol.

The promotions of Bob and Robin are just the latest step in VWV's growth strategy within the Higher Education sector. In the summer, the team was strengthened by the arrival of Claire Turner, former Director of Legal and Insurance Services at the University of Exeter, as a Consultant.

The team was also recognised amongst the best in the country by independent leading directories Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Jane Byford, Head of VWV's Higher Education practice, commented:

"Bob and Robin have worked diligently on behalf of our clients throughout their time with the firm, and it is a great pleasure to welcome them to the partnership.

With the appointment of Claire Turner and these promotions, we have 18 HE specialists, at partner level, covering a wide range of legal services required by our diverse education clients."
