The event was organised by Watford Workshop, a charity that provides work experience, training and employment for disabled and disadvantaged people. Each year, the Watford Workshop Sponsored Walk sees hundreds of local businesses gather in the streets of Watford, raising money for the charity.
We raised £235, which will help individuals supported by the charity achieve greater independence, become more integrated into the community and where possible, move into mainstream employment.
Gill Nightingale, Partnership Manager of Watford Workshop, commented:
“The Watford Workshop Sponsored Walk is not only an opportunity to have fun and fundraise. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges faced by adults with disabilities in getting mainstream employment.”
Richard Phillips, our Watford Office Partner, said:
"Knowing every step was helping the future of disabled and disadvantaged individuals inspired our team to join in, enjoy and be really satisfied in completing the walk.
It's a real pleasure to see a consistent, true passion from everyone within the office when it comes to fundraising. The ongoing level of dedication really demonstrates a true sense of pride and teamwork."
Last year alone, staff from our Watford office raised over £5,000 by taking part in various fundraising activities including, wing walking, abseiling, swimming the Serpentine and probably the hardest one of all, running plenty of cake sales!
