She previously worked with the Commercial Law team in London, where she drafted and advised on a variety of commercial contracts and worked on multiple data protection matters, including large-scale audits for higher-education clients.
Before starting her training contract, Nadjia worked as a paralegal in the Real Estate team in London, working on both residential and commercial transactions, in particular assisting housing associations and charities. She went on to work with the Commercial Property team in London as a trainee, where she assisted with variety of leases, licenses, sales, purchases and refinancing tranactions.
As a trainee, Nadjia works closely with her colleagues in the employment teams across all offices and so far has gained experience dealing with a range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE transfers, contractual reviews and advising on breaches of restrictive covenants. Nadjia has also assisted the corporate team with the employment due diligence reporting necessary for acquisitions.
Nadjia gained a first class undergraduate degree in Politics and Sociology, before completing the GDL and LLM Legal Practice Course with distinction at the University of Law.
Nadjia has worked for a number of charities, including the Legal Advice Centre in Bethnal Green and the National Centre for Domestic Violence and worked in Honduras with the women's cooperative COMUCAP. She is now an enthusiastic member of the VWV CSR Committee and recently took part in the 45 mile Palace to Palace bike ride to raise money for the firm's partner charity, The Prince's Trust and an braved an open water swim for Human Race at the JLL Property event 2018. She also has extensive experience working in the hospitality industry and puts this to good use as an active member of VWV's Sports and Social Committee.
