He is a specialist practice consultant for the RIBA and also acts for local authorities, public bodies, banks and universities.
Kai regularly advises clients on development agreements, construction contracts, agreements for lease and warranties, as well as construction disputes and professional negligence claims. Kai has a strong track record of settling disputes in correspondence and at mediation, but has also advanced claims through all stages of court proceedings.
"Kai provides an excellent service, very thorough, responsive and clear in his approach. He takes the time to explain options on strategy and their various merits in detail with you and always comes up with a way to really improve your position." - Paul Bennett, Director at AFL Services Europe
Kai qualified both as a solicitor and solicitor-advocate, so he has higher rights of audience in all the civil courts in England and Wales.
Kai regularly teaches contract law for the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Association for Project Management and MBL Seminars.
Kai is bilingual in English and German, which has helped him advise on international construction projects and on cross-border disputes. He also organises training events to help British businesses export to the Continent.
Away from work, Kai enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games and sometimes takes part in charity challenges (eg cycling from Bristol to Paris to raise money for children's hospitals).
