Kai is a Senior Associate in our Construction & Engineering team, based in our Bristol office.
He is a specialist practice consultant for the RIBA and regularly advises architects, surveyors and engineers on construction issues. He also acts for local authorities, public bodies, banks, schools, universities, contractors and property owners.
Kai is part of our Coronavirus Response team and provides specialist support to public sector organisations, banks and universities on the challenges posed by coronavirus.
Kai advises clients on development agreements, construction contracts and collateral warranties, as well as construction disputes and professional negligence claims.
Kai has a strong track record of settling disputes in correspondence and at mediation. He qualified both as a Solicitor and Solicitor-Advocate, so he has higher rights of audience in all the civil courts in England and Wales. He is also experienced in both adjudication and arbitration proceedings.
Kai is an accredited legal training provider for the Institution of Civil Engineers. He also regularly delivers legal training for construction professionals on behalf of MBL, a leading provider of accredited CPD webinars.

Kai was born in Germany, studied law in the UK and now lives near Bristol. He is bilingual in English/German and serves as the German Honorary Consul for Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire.
Away from work, Kai enjoys spending time with his family and sometimes takes part in charity challenges. He has cycled from Bristol to Paris twice to raise money for children's hospitals in Bristol.
